Cooking Lesson #942: Skrew Loose Cocktail

…from the Perspectives’ Happy Hour Bar

How you doin’?  My Skrew Loose Cocktail creates its own unique blend of coconut rum, orange juice, pineapple juice and Skrewball peanut butter whiskey. This vibrant sipper is sure to be a conversation starter with its fruity flavors and secret ingredient. But don’t confuse it with a Screwdriver cocktail… this one is quite distinct.
 
The Skrewball peanut butter whiskey is what really sets this cocktail apart. Who would think to pair fruity notes with something peanut butter flavored? I’m telling you it works! The peanut butter-flavored whiskey emerges so slightly, but the fruit juices and coconut rum really help level it all together.
 
Prep time:  5 minutes
Yield:  1 cocktail
 
Ingredients 
2 ounces Skrewball peanut butter whiskey
2 ounces coconut rum
2 ounces orange juice
2 ounces pineapple juice
 
Optional garnish 
orange wedge
pineapple wedge
maraschino cherry
 
Directions

1. Fill a highball glass halfway with ice.
2. Fill cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
3. Add the Skrewball whiskey, rum and both juices into the cocktail shaker.
4. Place the lid securely on cocktail shaker. Shake it vigorously for 20 seconds.
5. Strain over ice in glass.
6. Add more ice to glass if needed to bring to the top.
7. Garnish as you like and serve with a straw.

ChefSecret:  If you feel this cocktail is too strong for you, reduce the alcohols to 1-ounce and keep the juice measurements the same. Shaking the cocktail vigorously creates a fun foamy top from the pineapple juice. However, this drink can be stirred or tumbled if you prefer, you just won’t get the foamy top.

Quip of the Day:  Why don’t ants like peanut butter? It keeps sticking to the roof of their mouths!
