Cooking Lesson #627: The St-Tropez Cocktail

How you doin’? A couple of weeks ago I shared a recipe with a similar name—Cooking Lesson #623, The St. Tropez Summer Fruit Tart. If you’re not up to baking up a storm, here’s a summer cocktail that may work for you on any occasion.
 
The St-Tropez Cocktail is a light and refreshing, clear colored drink made with Grey Goose Citron citrus vodka, St-Germain elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, almond extract and club soda. It’s all served over ice in a Collins or tall highball glass. It looks and tastes benign, but really packs a punch. 
 
Saint-Tropez (the place) is the most luxurious resort on the French Riviera. Despite the ubiquitous luxury and wealth, it's still just a small fishing village.

Ingredients 
1 ounce citrus vodka (Grey Goose Le Citron)
1 ounce St-Germain elderflower liqueur
1/4 ounce lemon juice
1 drop of almond extract
Top off with club soda
Garnish with a lemon round slice and a whole small strawberry
Serve in a Collins glass
 
Directions

1. Shake the citrus vodka, elderflower liqueur, lemon juice and almond extract with ice in a cocktail shaker.
2. Strain into a Collins glass full of ice and top with club soda.
3. Garnish with a strawberry and a lemon slice.
